The answer to this debate depends on who you ask. However, in recent years, most autistic adults surveyed seem to prefer the use of identity-first language. Regardless, it is always important to ask folks how they prefer to self-identify. Some people do prefer the use of person-first language. We always want to respect each individual's right to use the language that resonates most.
